FILM REVIEW: “HAUNTED”

Living up to its title - this haunting piece of short cinema grabs you from the opening shots.  Writer/Director Brandon Young’s use of disturbing inserts throughout the film’s running time sets a tone that is hard to shake off even after the film has come to an end.

Telling the story of a man haunted by the demons of sorrow, guilt and remorse - we take the journey of recovery and reflection, always waiting for the shoe to drop and present the horrifying origin of the man’s trauma.

Brian Higgins as Thomas

Dennis Record as Eldon

The cinematography is a highlight of this short - it’s use of long lenses and focus pulls place you in a heightened reality that is amplified by the brilliant and haunting sound design.  A technically impressive and emotionally stimulating film.
